Our team : Gaetan Loumiere – Recorder / Editor

Gaetan is our recorder and sound editor.

He began to learn keyboard at the age of 10 and later bass guitar. Although Gaetan stopped practicing music at the age of 18, he decided to start learning how to use the sound material instead of a musical instrument.

His passion for cinema and video games pushed him to start learning how to manipulate sound applied to these medias.

Gaetan Loumiere - Sound designer assistant

While graduating from a Master in audiovisual sound at ISTS Paris (ESRA Group), he did several internships in sound studios in Paris. Immediatly after he graduate, he started working as a sound engineer and voice recorder for a studio specialized in the dubbing and mixing for animation, cinema and television.

He is able to work with Protools or Nuendo/Cubase and got his own recording gears for sound ambiences. He has been working on several short films as well sometimes as boom operator, editor or mixer.

Our team : Henryk Iwan – Composer

Henryk Iwan is our classical and orchestral music composer, scoring for film, video games, TV and other.

His musical education began already at an elementary school level, where he learned to play the piano at first. With his outstanding hearing perception and an ease of learning to play different instruments, it was clear that it would be a waste to stop at that.So after a few years, he switched to the double bass as a main instrument and it stayed that way through high school, as well as the Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland), from which he graduated in 2007.

At the same time, throughout the years, he’s been self-teaching to play the electric guitar, which always was his favorite instrument to play and which he studied further at the Jazz Department of the Academy. But still, he never really liked the idea of being “focused” on just one particular instrument, or even a genre. For him, it was always about the music itself, music as a whole. That is probably why, at some point, he started to get more and more interested in composing ; it emerged from the will to not just re-create, but actually create what he considers to be the most beautiful of all the arts…

Henryk Iwan - Composer

Although he was born and raised in Poland, he prefers the American approach to scoring for motion picture, developed over decades of their rich cinematography, rather than the European minimalist philosophy. His exceptional ability to “feel” the scene drives him to come up with interesting ideas of how to derive inner emotions, or create a specific mood and make the movie really come to life. Add to that his long time love for the far-eastern music (mostly Japanese), and you get a really elegant mixture of what’s best in eastern and western world.

Another side that surely helps him compose and orchestrate, is his many years experience in a live orchestra (as an instrumentalist). He creates music of much versatility and variety of styles, but always standing up to today’s highest standards. And knowing the fact that he’s also one of just a few people on the globe being invited to work with some of the leading music software developers (like Native Instruments, Best Service or even Vienna Symphonic Library), it’s no surprise that his music is so very well produced.

In 2008 – just a year after his graduation – he has already won in an big international music contest, held by Spectrasonics (USA) and received his first major award, for the Best Video Game Score , proving to be one of the more promising young up-and-coming composers today…

Our team : Julien Brigitte – Recorder / Editor / Webmaster

Julien is our recorder, editor and webmaster.

He started to compose urban music when he was 14 years old, on Propellerhead  Reason and then on Cubase.

During his education school, Julien studied computer sciences : development, programming, networking, etc. During his free-time he recorded and mixed tracks with his friend in his home studio, and began to learn about the sound engineering techniques on Digital Audio Workstations (Cubase, Nuendo,  etc.) and composing softwares (Propellerhead  Reason, Ableton Live, Fruityloops). He made his own sound databank for urban music composing, such as claps, beat-box, percussion (jumbe, derbuka, shaker, etc.), snaps…

Julien Brigitte - Recorder, Sound Editor

Since he’ve been graduated from his high school and worked as webmaster for different companies, he decided to change his orientation to work in audio professions. So he’s been self-teaching about the different DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), about the  different Microphone specificities and he joined the Simply Sound team in June and learn how to record and edit different type of sound (voice-over, ADR, Foley, music, etc.).

Julien is still learning hard everyday to learn more about Sound Engineering techniques, specially about the stereo and surround mixing, music mastering, and sound designing…he’s also working on the Simply Sound website and already created this blog !

Our team : Alex Riviere – Manager / Sound designer

Alex Riviere is our manager and sound designer, he’s in charge of the business development (assessing of marketing opportunities and target market, client relationship), the team management, the sound supervision (recording, editing, original music composing) and of course the sound engineering (sound design, 5.1 and stereo sound mixing, mastering).

His musical education began when he was 6 years old, on a Keyboards Jazz School in France, where he learned how to play piano and keyboards in general (synthesizer, Hammond organ, etc.).

He started to compose music at 15, for his friends first, and then more professionally during his high school education.

Alex Riviere - Audio Director

After a BETC Highter National Diploma in Electronic and Computing, Alex made a Master in Sound Engineering at ISTS Paris (ESRA Group). At the same time (2nd year of Sound Engineering Master), he signed his first contract with a famous music major company : Sony ATV Music Publishing.

Then he started to compose, produce and mix many tracks for numerous top French artists, with several gold and platinum records experiences. Alex also worked as audiovisual sound engineer, sound designer and composer during 2 years as freelancer for French Tennis Open (Roland Garros Paris).

After 3 years in the French music industry, with a strong background as composer, music producer and mixer, Alex decided to come in China to work on many different audio industries, such as films, video games, music, live show, TV, TV advertising, short films, etc.
